Meet The Team
Gower Pottery is a family-owned craft business located in the heart of The Gower, it is owned by Carol Ann Griffiths who graduated in 2013 with an honour’s degree in Ceramics from the University of Wales Trinity St David in Carmarthen. She is joined by her daughter, Anna Griffiths.
Carol has a background in crafts going back over 20 years, including stained glasses, flower arranging, photography and dressmaking. Anna has a keen interest with an eye for the smaller ceramic jewellery and crafts, as well as an interest in social media and marketing.
We are keen walkers and adventurers and use these experiences to form ideas for the business.
Inspired by the beautiful Gower Coastline our handmade ceramics are carved and impressed with shells, flowers and found objects all collected while walking the beaches here on the Gower. We want people to see, touch and feel a piece of Gower in everything we create!
Handmade from stoneware, terracotta, or porcelain clay, starting on the potter’s wheel and fired twice in an oxidation kiln. We hand mix the glazes and each piece of pottery has up to three or four different recipes to reminisce the coastal environment which makes every piece individual and unique. All made from our small studio here on the Gower.
We sell out crafts in local shops, as well as direct from our Bramble Rock studio by appointment, or if it’s open and you are passing by. We also sell through Etsy and Facebook.
